If you’re planning an LED lighting retrofit project in New York, now is the time to act.
The New York Department of Public Service has announced that Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Lighting Incentives will sunset by the end of 2025 across the state.
This change affects most remaining programs that currently provide rebates and incentives for energy-efficient lighting upgrades.
To qualify for these incentives, all project installations must be completed and final applications submitted by late November 2025—a timeline designed to ensure sufficient processing time before the programs officially close.
Utility-Specific Deadlines
While most programs are adhering to the end-of-year cutoff, NYSEG and RG&E have issued tentative deadlines:
- Pre-Approval Deadline: June 30, 2025
- Final Approval Deadline: October 31, 2025
These dates could be subject to change, so it’s critical for businesses to get ahead of the process.
