If you manage facilities in Minnesota and are considering a lighting upgrade, now’s the time to act.
Xcel Energy is offering limited-time bonus rebates for commercial and industrial customers that can significantly reduce the cost of upgrading to LED lighting. These bonus rebates stack on top of Xcel’s already generous standard incentives—making it easier than ever to improve lighting performance, reduce maintenance, and cut energy costs.
Here’s what’s on the table:
- 25% bonus rebate on qualifying interior and exterior lighting (excluding controls)
- 100% bonus rebate on LED linear tube replacements
- 50% bonus on screw-in LED lamps
- A new 25% LED-to-LED bonus for modernizing outdated LED fixtures
- Applications must be submitted by December 5, 2025
(Applies to qualifying invoices dated between April 1, 2024, and October 31, 2025)

Bonus Rebates for Trade Partners Too
If you work with a Trade Partner registered through Xcel (Like PEC), they’re also eligible for up to 10% of the project rebate value (capped at $5,000) as an additional incentive, at no cost to you.
This can improve project timelines and unlock extra collaboration incentives from your contractor or installer.
Why Now? Minnesota’s Fluorescent Ban Starts in 2026
Minnesota will join a growing list of states phasing out linear fluorescent lamps (T8, T5, and T12) starting in 2026. Upgrading to LED now not only avoids compliance headaches but also ensures you maximize incentives before rebate structures change or expire.
Don’t Miss Out
With rebates capped at 60% of total project costs and funding available on a first-come, first-served basis, early movers will capture the most value. Projects must be completed and applications submitted before December 5, 2025
